World and New Age Music CD: eMotive Featuring Non-Profit Music

eMotive offers the unique concept of “Making Music – Saving Lives”. Featuring artists such as Grundman, Gnomusy David Caballero), Joaquin Taboada, and Eduardo Laguillo, the album is a compilation of World and New Age melodies that is easy on the ears. After on listen, you’ll realize the title eMotive fits because the tunes really do emote and make you feel various emotions while listening.

With the concern for those in the world not as fortunate as we are, it is interesting to be able to purchase a really entertaining, truly emotive album and give to good causes at the same time. So how do you know that the money really goes to charity and to help those truly in need instead of into a fund which pays high salaries to staff members and gives little to help others? All you need to do is a little research to know your investment in this music is good for your ears and others lives.

Non Profit Music, a record company in Spain, gives ALL its profits to humanitarian causes including emergency international medical relief through Doctors Without Borders. If purchasing in the United States, you’ll find the music label to be Only New Age Music because of a licensing agreement, but it is the same music and the same non-profit process which is followed when purchased under the Non Profit Music label. So, don’t let yourself become confused.

Jorge Grundman, commonly known only as Grundman, is one of the four Spanish musicians featured on the album. David Caballero, recording under the moniker Gnomusy, along with Eduardo Laquillo and Joaquin Taboado are the others. All four are keyboardist who create a vast range of sounds.

New Age and World Music CD eMotive Keeps on GivingGrundman is the driving force and founder of Non Profit Music. The label will only sign artists who share his passion for humanitarianism and create emotive music. The music must move people to feel — really feel — which is what emoting is all about.

eMotive has certain accomplished that goal. No one who listens to this compilation album can go away without having experienced emotions such as serenity, peace, joy, happiness, combined with sadness and realization of suffering. The music is meant to cause the listener not to be totally comfortable with their lives but to move them to do something more for the world with their efforts to give back some of the bounty we have in the economically developed world.

One cut that deserves special attention is performed by Grundman, entitled “The Girl with the Stolen Smile”. This is a tribute to the people massacred in China in 1937 when the Japanese army invaded, killing as many as 300,000 soldier and civilians in massive executions. It is believe that more than 20,000 women were raped along with other atrocious war crimes.

It has often been said of the Holocaust that we must ever remember lest we allow history to repeat. Grundman clearly wants eMotive and his other works to ensure that we remember the past tragedies and help those in the throes of current genocides and tragedies to survive and remember, never to repeat.

As I initially listened to this album, knowing nothing of the history or vision of the music, I was pleased but not enthralled. After learning the causes behind the production of eMotive, I found myself listening intently and seeking the stories contained inside the music. They were easy to find once I listened with an opened heart and mind.

I highly recommend eMotive to anyone who loves World or New Age music or those who wish to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem. If this genre is not your thing, buy it for a gift for someone who will enjoy it and the profits will go to causes you may not be a part of helping in any other way.
