Book and CD Review: Getting into the Vortex by Esther and Jerry Hicks
Have you been living in your vortex?
If you’ve been going through life feeling off balance, out of sorts, and just not seeing events and people in the best light possible (including yourself) then you just may have lost the connection to your own vortex.
Vortex is defined as in Cartesian philosophies as a rapid movement of cosmic matter around a center—or the origin of bodies or systems in space.
In Getting into the Vortex (Hay House), the vortex is the place within yourself where you are deeply at peace and connected to the maker of all, the source of all creation and energy—whatever name you give that source matters little. The connection is what counts.
Esther and Jerry Hicks lead the reader on a journey into discovering how to re-connect to this vital life source, energy that lives within each and every one of us—and all around us. However, as they explain, their role is to reveal the teachings that they have received about connecting to the Vortex through Abraham.
New York Times Bestsellers Score Big Again
Now, if you know the names Esther and Jerry Hicks then you’ve undoubtedly heard about Abraham. Abraham and the Hicks have written several other books aimed at helping people to “live a better feeling life” by “coming into alignment with the Energy of our Source.” These New York Times bestsellers include: The Vortex, Money and the Law of Attraction, and Ask and It is Given.
For those of you who don’t, let me explain. The Hicks have been connecting with Abraham for over two decades now. In their own words Abraham is “a name, a symbol, a feeling.” They describe Abraham, who visits them to share and teach through them, as “infinite intelligence” and “the purest form of love I’ve ever experienced.”
Spiritual Translations
This may be a little awkward for some at first—I know it was for me. In Getting into the Vortex, the words in both the book and on the accompanying CD are “translated” (for lack of a better word) from Abraham through Esther Hicks. When I first opened the pages of this 138 page spiritual handbook I was skeptical. But as I opened my mind to the words on the pages I felt comfort, peace, and true insight into so much about my life and the lives of all on the planet. As I continued this easy-to-read-and-relate-to book, I began to feel a sense of hope and inspiration to mold my own world and life to what I truly desire deep within my heart.
Then I began to listen to the CD. Again, I was Miss Skeptical. But what began to happen was truly amazing. I again felt an increased level of insight, peace, and comfort. But what also happened (and is continuing to happen) is that I’m beginning to become attuned to what my inner heart is saying, wanting, and needing—hint: it’s so much easier than I ever imagined. This is a powerful tool to enhance your life and create what it was meant to be.
Finding Balance and Inner Peace
There’s something really special that I love about this book and CD. When I look at self-help type of books, I often find that I (as well as my friends) greet the book with a sigh, saying silently to myself, “Okay, I know I’m off balance and am not feeling in tuned with complete happiness or peace, but how much work is this going to take?” I mean, we all have so much going on in today’s world and frantic pace my to-do list couldn’t possibly be any longer (at least without me completely losing it!).
One part in this book and inspiring CD says:
This will not be an exercise of effort or trying, but instead an exercise of releasing and allowing . . . gently allowing yourself to be who-you-really-are.
This holds true all through both the book and CD. It’s not work because it’s already inside of you and beautiful Esther and Jerry Hicks make it a joy to connect to Abraham and get into your vortex. This is a must read!
