Money: The Relationship of Cause and Effect
In metaphysics the principle of cause and effect is viewed from a different perspective. Here is a typical perception of this in regard to wealth building and money awareness:
“I never experience having more than enough money or prosperity, therefore I don’t believe that they can exist for me.”
This perception states that the external, material situation we are in controls our inner beliefs and attitudes. This is the typical viewpoint of humanity, and has been this way since cavemen assumed that they were at the mercy of the gods, the elements and the world around them. This is a deeply ingrained perspective, based upon the idea that we are powerless in the face of the world and the events surrounding us. The basic principles of metaphysics are in direct opposition to this perspective, as they assume that we have far more personal power than the old assumption allows. Here is an expression of the metaphysical perspective on the same situation we used above:
“I never believe that money or prosperity can exist for me, therefore I don’t experience them.”
We can look at this as cause and effect or putting the cart before the horse, or however you can visualize the concept best. The point is that it is our belief, attitude, expectation or mental perspective which has the initiating power. What we are holding in mind is what we will experience. Not that what we experience is what creates the content of our minds. This is a tough concept for some to grasp, but it is borne out by the scientific discoveries in modern physics. What we have in mind is what our life experience will mirror. Therefore, if you want to change your relationship with money and wealth building this is a good place to start.
This is the bottom line in metaphysical prosperity consciousness. We have to accept that whatever we are experiencing in our financial “lives” is what we have first believed in our minds. This is the sequence, first your mental attitude and secondly, your physical experience of the situation. I know that it seems that I am repeating myself, but for many, this simplicity is difficult to believe. This is why wealth building affirmations and prosperity visualizations are so important in creating financial freedom. They help to create the necessary mental attitude that the physical universe can then duplicate.
I have seen experienced metaphysicians suddenly “forget” this most basic of metaphysical principles and feel helpless in the face of physical universe conditions. In my opinion this is an emotional reaction, a reflex against being too “responsible” for the condition of our lives. To me, this is indicative of our “growing pains” as a species. Perhaps we are in an adolesence of spiritual development, wherein we can take responsibility for our adulthood only in spurts and then must claim the inability of childhood. Whatever the reason for this, we can again remind ourselves that we are not victims of circumstance, but instead are authors of our fate.
Anthony Robbins has helped many people make money and get back on track to become financially free. For inspiration, here is a quote from him:
“It’s not what is happening to you now or what has happened in your past that determines who you become. Rather, it’s your decisions about what to focus on, what things mean to you, and what you’re going to do about them that will determine your ultimate destiny.”
