Releasing Anger and Scarcity Fears
Emotions that are present when there are beliefs of scarcity in life, are aspects of anger. Big surprise, you may think. The surprise actually is that very often, it is anger which is holding prosperity at bay. Frequently, the individual is angry at prosperity, about prosperity, about money in general or about who gets to have it. This anger may be suppressed, only coming out in bitterness at the “privileges of the wealthy”, or some similar trigger. Envy or jealousy may be other ways of expressing the anger. It is important to learn how to release these emotional responses if you want to become financially free.
Anger can halt prosperity. The purpose of anger as an emotional energy is to push something away. We cannot be receptive and angry at the same time, anymore than a hose can flow water in two directions at once. Money itself cannot harm us. However it is often the target of our anger when we feel that it has been used against us. If we feel that we’ve been betrayed, cheated or hurt in some way financially and are unable to release or forgive the experience, we will hold it away from ourselves. Since money or prosperity is part of the experience, it will be held away as well. Our wealth building actions won’t very fruitful.
One of the toughest and also the funniest reactions I have to deal with as a counselor is having someone yell at me, “I’m not angry!” Uh huh. When it comes to metaphysical counseling, wherein we know that our thoughts are creating our reality, I get this even more often and louder. However, there is a simple clue. If you aren’t experiencing the level of financial freedom and prosperity in your life that you desire, then you have unresolved anger in the area.
No one has to stay angry. It may take some work, but if we’re sincere, forgiveness, release or both can occur. Generally, the test is whether it is more important to remain angry or to have the benefits of peace. When we’re sincerely attached to our anger, this can seem like a “trick question”. It really isn’t. Anger can and should be released if one wants to reap the benefits of peace. Let it move into the past where it belongs. Now and the future are about peace and prosperity. By releasing anger and moving into the present you will have energy reserves to channel into productive wealth building actions. Your money will likely increase and you will be one step closer to creating financial freedom.
Here is a reminder that a prosperous attitude does make a difference:
“Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens. Circumstances and situations do color life but you have been given the mind to choose what the color shall be.” By John Homer Miller
